Conservative MP, Mr. Boris Alexander Johnson has been appointed UK Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury by Her Majesty The Queen.
Earlier this afternoon, Her Majesty received in audience the Right Honourable Boris Johnson and formally asked him to form a new government.
Her Majesty’s offer was accepted by Boris Johnson and he officially became the U.K’s 55th and the Queen’s 14th Prime Minister.

Following a Privy Council meeting with her new Prime Minister and the new members of the Cabinet towards the end of the week, The Queen will depart for her annual summer break at Balmoral.
