The Duchess Of Cambridge Visits The Royal Opera House

During her busy first week back to work, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Costume Department of the Royal Opera House.

Each year, 10,000′ costumes are made for the artists of the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet by the Costume Department, and HRH paid a visit to the team to learn more about their use of textile, the commissioning of fabrics and their supply chain.

This visit was of special interest to the Duchess as her great-great-grandfather, Francis Martineau Lupton, was a successful textile manufacturer, who ran William Lupton & Company with his three brothers.

During her tour, HRH Kate was also treated to watching Royal Ballet Principal Dancers Lauren Cuthbertson, Laura Morera and Vadim Muntagirov rehearse Two Pigeons.

HER OUTFIT

Dressed in a stylish fuchsia pink Oscar de la Renta peplum two-piece, which she was last seen wearing for a mental health conference in 2017, HRH accessorised her look with a mock croc handbag by Aspinal of London, a pair of Asprey’s Oak Leaf 18K gold and diamond earrings, dark tights, and black patent heels with gold buckle detail by London-based designer, Rupert Sanderson
